Restaurant Review: Bellagio – Soul Curry

On a perfect summer afternoon, me and my friends decided to explore the various option near my place and which is why we landed to Ashok Vihar in the first place. I have often observed families going to the place and I used to wonder how the food would be. We all agreed to give a miss to the café food and take the onus of reviewing a family restaurant.

The lift took us to the upper floor and opened to a narrow passage, which lead us to Bellagio – Soul Curry.

Punjabi by heart, we ordered glasses of chilled chaach to relieve ourselves from the scorching heat. Served with a pinch of masala and mint leaves, it was a delight to our thirsty throats. The cheese kurkure oozed out melted cheese and chilly flakes. Loved it! We ordered a non-vegetarian platter to kick-start our afternoon along with frozen strawberry margarita, Irish Coffee and red wine sangria. Drinks were just decent, nothing to brag about, however, the Irish Coffee was surprisingly pleasant. Recommended!

The non veg platter consisted of chicken malai tikka, chicken lahsuni tikka, chicken saag wala, fish and mutton seekh kebab. Most of the dishes were delicious with an exception of fish. We also ordered dahi ke kebab, lagan ki boti and gulawati kebab. Where gulawati and lagan ki boti were blunders, dahi ke kebabs were amazing. Soft filling, not too overpowering and just the right blend of spices.

Next we moved on to the main course and ordered a lavish spread including subz kashmiri pulao, baluchistani naan, mirchi ke paranthey, sweetcorn and mushroom, butterchicken, rara mutton, aaloo chickenwaley, dal makhani and bhindi kurkura. Bhindi, sweetcorn, dal makhni and naan were lovely, an absolute spot-on.

For desserts, we ordered gulab jamun, ras malai, shahi tukda and firni and each one of them was impressive. Highly Recommended!

O boy, the main course and desserts spread was HEAVENLY. And, now I realized what makes the families regular here. I would definitely recommend it to those who seek a comfortable environment to spend some quality time with the family over good food and great desserts.
